It was a tough loss for the De La Salle Green Archers last Saturday and to think that they lost to the Ateneo Blue Eagles. But, there is nothing to be ashamed of. A young team like the Green Archers made it to the Final Four, that's something right? And with that, we can definitely see a brighter future ahead of them. They could even win the title next season if they want to, just look at how they played this season.
I can say that the DLSU-ADMU game last Saturday was a great one. It was actually the best game that I've watched between the two ever since I studied in La Salle. The crowd during the game was again, awesome. It was a really tight game and Ateneans must admit that at one point, they became nervous. DLSU gave them a great fight. But there are just some things that didn't go in La Salle's way. I don't like to put blame just because La Salle lost but I just couldn't help it. I know that there's a foul that should've been called on the last few seconds of the game but no one admitted it. Even if I'm not an expert in basketball, I know when it's a foul. It was that obvious. But I guess, that's part of the game. You win some, you lose some. It was just depressing that they lost when they actually had the chance to win.
Now, all I can say is congratulations. Congratulations to the DLSU Green Archers for making it this far. You definitely made all the Lasallians proud of being one. Not only did you bring DLSU back to the final four, but you also showed everyone how determined you are in every game and how proud you are of your school. You made us feel how great it is to be a Lasallian. You didn't just play for the school because you had to but because you want to. And we thank you for that. We should also thank Coach Gee Abanilla for all his effort in every game. Thank you for being there for the Green Archers. Well done!

Another guy I won't forget this season. Thomas Torres. He was really great and it's also his first playing year for DLSU. So, we would be seeing more of him in the coming seasons and I know he'll do well. Thomas Torres is the kind of player who really puts all his effort during the game, he plays with all his heart. I've been seeing him play since his high school days and from then on, I believed that he'll even be greater at this sport. He is the kind of player that doesn't really boast of what he can do. He's such a kind guy. And to prove that, he even helped Juami Tiongson of the Ateneo Blue Eagles when he had cramps. He didn't mind that he's from the other team, he helped because it was the right thing to do. Now that is sportsmanship. That is a true Lasallian. And I admit, I admire Thomas Torres. It was actually the first time I admired someone from the basketball team who plays well ever since I studied in La Salle. :))))))))
And of course, I wouldn't forget Jovet Mendoza and Joshua Webb. It's their last playing year and I know how sad they are. I actually felt sad when I saw them crying after the game. We should thank them for the five years they spent playing for La Salle. We can't deny the fact that they gave their 100% effort in every game. It's just that sometimes they can't make their shots, that's part of being a player. It's even sadder that some people are continually blaming Joshua Webb for the loss. Yes, he may have made wrong decisions during the game but that doesn't give us the right to say things about him. We don't know how hard it was for him. So, let's just thank him for all the years he spent for La Salle. Joshua Webb & Jovet Mendoza are true Lasallians. Again, thank you.

Real men aren't afraid to cry.
To Jovet Mendoza & Joshua Webb, good luck with your future careers.
Animo!
And to the other players: Tampus, Manguera, Dela Paz, Tallo, Paredes, Gotladera & Reyes, THANK YOU! See you next season! :) We know you'll all do great! :)
Again and again, I can't wait for next season. I know that we'll be seeing a much stronger and tougher DLSU team but with the same heart. There would be new players again. I really believe that they can win the title if they just believe in themselves. I will always be their number one fan. As I've said in my previous blog, I'm definitely a die hard Lasallian and I'm proud to be one. Animo La Salle! See you next season!
