Never Shall We Fail!

I told myself that I would blog once DLSU wins over FEU. That's why you're seeing this blog entry now. YES! DLSU won!!! I still can't get over that. Hahaha! I believe that the whole Lasallian community can't get over that. It was such an epic game. It was a do or die game which made it more epic. I'm not a basketball expert but I know a few things about it. I'm more of a basketball fan so I won't really be going into the details of the game. It would just be all based on my opinion and what I felt during the game.

Well, I wasn't really able to watch the game live at the MOA Arena. I planned to, but I wasn't able to get a ticket so I settled on watching the game on TV. Thank you to Studio 23 hahaha :)))) During the whole duration of the game, I never doubted the Archers. Well, ever since. I don't know why but once I support a team, I support them all the way. I'm such a fanatic. I'm also the kind of person who's really proud of the school I came from. Even before I entered La Salle, I always supported them. My sister may have influenced me :) But as I've said in my previous blogs, DLSU was my dream school. Anyway, so much for explaining why I'm a die hard Lasallian. Let's talk more about the game yesterday.

During the first quarter, I liked how Jovet Mendoza stepped up in the game. It's his last playing year so I guess he really gave it all. So, kudos to him! For almost the entire game, FEU led by as much as 6 points  and even 10 in the last quarter and DLSU was always trying to cut the lead. It was only in the 4th quarter that DLSU was able to take the lead with only less than a minute left. I have to give credits to Norbert Torres. He really did a great job and dominated the inside. He scored 21 points if I'm not mistaken. "Fear the Bear" really suits him. I hope that he'll be the same for their next game which is a really big game, a game against ADMU. Another person that really played well would be Arnold van Opstal, he even made an epic dunk that blew the crowd away. The combination of N. Torres and AVO was great. I think we would be seeing more of that. Of course, we shouldn't forget about the efforts made by Jeron Teng and Almond Vosotros. Even if Vosotros wasn't totally in his game, he still managed to get some 3s when the team needed it the most. From the moment Vosotros made a 3, everything went in their way. Jeron Teng was as usual, great. He is not afraid to take shots, even hard ones. He would really drive to the basket, that's how fearless he is. I heard that he's the Rookie of the Year and even part of the Mythical 5? Well he deserved that. Congrats to him! He played well for the Archers. La Salle was lucky to have him. La Salle was lucky to have a team like what we have now. And save the best for last...(may favoritism? hahaha!) Thomas Torres did great during their game. And I'm not being biased. Well, he's not that great during the whole game but it was his shot that somehow made a change in the game. That's why he was named as the "Game Changing Player"? I'm not sure if that's right but it's pretty close to that. Anyway, Thomas Torres was really able to step up when LA Revilla was out for I think, 5 games. That made him show everyone his capabilities. Hoping that he'll do great for the next game. And of course, we also have to give credits to Coach Gee Abanilla. It was his first year as the coach for DLSU and he was able to help the team be in the Final 4. Well done, Coach Gee!:) And, can I just add... The La Salle crowd during the game was awesome. Even if I'm just watching it on TV, I can clearly hear them cheer with all their heart. Hoping for the same crowd on Saturday's game.

Their next game won't be easy and a lot of people are thinking that they would lose just like what happened during the eliminations but for me, anything can still happen. If the team would just play their game, I believe they can do it. Sabi nga nila, bilog ang bola. The game isn't over until it's over. They never surrendered and they are giving their 101% effort when they are playing. Just like what most Lasallians are saying; they are playing with all their heart. PUSO kung PUSO. They may not be a perfect team but they made all the Lasallians proud of the whole team. Whatever happens, win or lose, (I hope it's a win though) they made DLSU proud of them. Now, I'm excited for the DLSU-ADMU game. We're watching it live so I hope La Salle wins. I'm ready to cheer for them and sing the Alma Mater Hymn first ('coz you know, the winner gets to sing it first). So there, I just hope that it would be another epic game and another epic win for the Archers!

Hail, Hail

Alma Mater,
Hail to De La Salle!
We'll hold your banner high and bright,
A shield of green and white,
We'll fight to keep your glory bright,
And never shall we fail,
Hail to thee our Alma Mater!
Hail! Hail! Hail!

BELIEVE.

Trip to Tagaytay!

We went to Tagaytay last August 25 :) What a super late post. Hahaha :)))) I was with Ate Gigi, Kaela, Jade, Nyel & Marco. So, I woke up earlier than the usual during that day 'coz I need to be in Cubao by 8am and I actually made it on time. Good job for me. Hahaha! Anyway, I think we left at around 9am and we arrived there at almost 11? I think. At first, we didn't know where to go. We went to so many places :) We went to Josephine's then to Leslie's then to another place wherein I forgot what it's called. Haha! Then we also went to Starbucks and can I just say, we went to Starbucks three times that day, three! :))) We went there because of Marco. He really likes coffee. As in. That's why he's the only one who had coffee on our second & third visit to Starbucks. I also like coffee but I don't think I can have that amount of coffee in one day. :)) That's too much for me. So, I really had fun that day and I was so full. Sobrang dami naming nakain, sobra talaga at sobrang dami kong tawa nung araw na yun. :))

Now, I'd like to share some of our pictures that day. We actually have lots of pictures. Sorry, we're vain. :)
I just made gifs for some of the pictures:) Dahil sa sobrang dami ng pictures namin hahaha :))))

On our way to Tagaytay :)

Time to think about myself.

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”

                                                                 -Lao Tzu

I just realized that I always care about what other people will think of me and it's not really a good thing. Most of the time, whenever I try to do new things I would always think of what other people would be thinking of me. That would always be the first thing on my mind. I never really cared about what I would feel if ever I would follow what I want to do. I know I'll be happy but thinking of what others would think would still be on top. And, whenever I fail to do something, I would still think of what others are thinking instead of just telling myself that it is just fine.

Just for instance, when I graduated from college and I didn't have any awards or whatsoever, I didn't even think of myself first but instead I thought of what my classmates, batchmates or even my teachers back in high school would think. I felt sad 'coz I know that I wasn't able to maintain what I had back in high school. I know that some would be saying things about me and that's really bothering me. I don't know why I'm always like that. I always care about what others think instead of thinking of myself first and I do need to change that. It's really a bad attitude. It's not that I'm doing something bad that's why I need to think of what others would say but maybe because I have that "image". Because for most people, their first impression of me would be the good, simple, sort of shy & timid, studious, grade conscious type of person. So, every time I do something "new" for them, I know some people would say something. For example, nowadays I am really into accessorizing and dressing up and for others they are not used to that. I also enjoy dancing, acting and things like that and again for others they don't see me doing those things. So I know that there are people who are saying something about me when it comes to those things. Even the smallest things that I would be doing, I know there would still be people around me that would be criticizing or saying something about me and I can't change them.

I know that there would always be people who are like that. And I should really stop concentrating on those things and I should just focus on what would make me happy. If I would be doing something (and I assure you it won't be bad) or deciding on something, I'll make sure to think of myself first. I need to do that for myself  'coz all my life I have been thinking of what others would say or think first instead of what I would feel. I am now giving time to think about myself first whenever I would be making choices or even taking risks.

I would definitely remember this.
