Happy January :)

As I've said in a previous blog of mine, I'll be blogging at the end of every month. Just to have a summary of how a certain month went by.

I guess the title summarizes how my January was. Corny as it may sound but yes it was definitely a happy month. Well, I'm not happy everyday, trust me. I still have those days wherein I just feel so down even if I don't know why. But it's lesser when compared to last year. Anyway, the start of my January was a great one and the end of it was even better.

Let me share what happened this month :)

I started the month with my family, I even blogged about it here. It was truly memorable! Well, every moment with my family is worth keeping. I know you also treasure every moment with your family. If not, then I suggest that you should. On the first day of January we had our complete family picture wherein we all wore blue.
CANLAS FAMILY♥

Then on the first Thursday of the month I was able to complete the nine days of novena to St. Jude Thaddeus. And until now, I'm still attending the mass & novena every Thursday. It's always a great feeling whenever I attend the novena & mass. I always get this feeling of fulfillment. :) I will always be grateful to St. Jude Thaddeus :)
Yay! :)
(from my planner)

Then on the first Friday of the month, of course, I attended mass. And, it was also the day wherein I got the chance to bond with two of my cousins.
Photo from my cousin's instagram account: geecanlas :)

It was also this month wherein I was able to exercise more. I was able to stick with one of my plans. I was also able to jog for at least two times a week. I'm liking it :) I should continue this. I wanna have that "Bora body" hahaha! I wish.
healthy living :))))

Another reason why I loved my January: three of my favorite series are back! Oh, simple joys.

Pretty Little Liars.

90210.

The Vampire Diaries.

Then, I was able to watch the DLSU-ADMU women's volleyball game at the San Juan Arena. It was my first time to watch it live. Here's my blog entry about it. :) Click this hahaha.
My only photo that day. Sorry. Low quality -_-

And it was also in this month wherein I got the chance to bond with my high school friends. We see each other almost everyday. We just hang out mostly at our house and we have fun even with those simple things. I love hanging out with them. Non-stop kwentuhan at tawanan =)) Our high school barkada had our 6th year anniversary last January 14 :)
This is the photo I uploaded on my instagram: rosannebianca :)
Happy 6th again dhaber =)

This month, I was also able to do something new. Yup, I just blogged about that earlier. Since I really want my own ombre shorts I decided to make one plus some cropped tops :)

Tops: BEFORE.

Tops: AFTER.

Shorts: BEFORE.

Learn how to make one. Here :)

Another reason why I loved this month: I made use of my planner wisely. Yay for me! Hahaha. I doodled, wrote quotes, notes, appointments etc. I was glad that I really started using it, it was so full. Here's a glimpse of my planner. It's blurry so you won't be able to read it hahaha!

MOSTLY DOODLES. =))

THERE :)

Then, the last two things that happened this month that really completed it would be the news that my new phone will be delivered after 3 days (I've waited for this for two months) and receiving the news that I was accepted in a medical school :) You know what, I received both news on the same day which was last Tuesday, January 29 :) I was definitely a happy kid that day! Another good thing was I got my phone the day after they called. Napaaga pa =)) I'm really one lucky girl.

I told myself that 2013 would be my year, yes I claimed it. And, I think it's starting to be true. Only one month have passed and I already received so many blessings. God knows when to answer our prayers. He surely has the right timing. Always. That's why we should never doubt Him. If He doesn't give it in an instant, I'm sure that He's just waiting for the right time to answer your prayer. That's what happened to me. There were days wherein I felt so so sad but the next day a great news would come out. So I guess that's just part of our lives. We have to get used to the ups and downs of life, life is a roller coaster ride indeed. It may get rough at times, we may be scared of it sometimes but at the end of the ride we would always say; "It was fun and worth it. I wanna try it again."

DIY.

I've been into ombre shorts, cropped tops and fringed tops lately so I even decided to buy some on online shops. Well, I bought one fringed top 'coz it really caught my attention. Here's what it looks like.

The right one :)
Sorry, this is the only decent photo I have with this top.
Since I'm very into basketball, I guess this would fit me. But I'm not really a fan of Celtics (sorry to the fans out there). Anyway, as I've said I became really interested on the said clothes. I even decided to buy a few pairs of ombre shorts. But... I didn't. Instead, I decided making one. :)

Well, I decided to make two ombre shorts and a couple of shirts turned into tank tops. Since it was my first time to do this, I was kinda nervous for the result especially for the ombre shorts 'coz I really have no idea how it would turn out. But luckily, everything went well. I was happy with the outcome of my ombre shorts and tank tops :) I saved money plus I enjoyed making them :) I was glad that I have the time to do this. It's really a must try. It's actually easy and fast to make.

Let me share to you guys how I made them.

For the ombre shorts:

Things needed:
-denim shorts/pants
-boiling water
-bucket
-fabric dye
-bleach (optional)
-gloves
-scissors

1. If you'll be using pants, cut them according to your desired length. Distressing it would make it look better. To distress the shorts, just run the end of your shorts with the blunt end of your scissors.
2. If your jeans is too dark, bleach it first so that you will have a better ombre effect.
3. Then wash it with cold water to remove the extra bleach. Let it dry.
4. When the shorts is already dry: Place the fabric dye (choose your color), on the bucket and add the boiling water then place some iodized salt. Iodized salt is added so that the color would be intensified and for it to stick to the shorts well.
5. Dip the shorts for 5-10 minutes, depending on how dark you want the color to be. The longer it is, the darker it will become.
6. Wash it with cold running water.
7. Dry it.

P.S. Remember to follow the instructions written on the dye you used. On how long you should let it stay and when to wash it. Different dyes have different instructions for that :)

Let's go to the tops! This one's really easy to do :)

I did three different kinds of tops: the tank top, the fringed top and the hanging top.

What you will need:
-scissors
-pencil/marker (optional)

For the tank top:

1. Lay down the shirt.
2. Cut the collar part of the shirt, it can be deeper if you want to.
3. Cut the sleeves off. Depending on how low you want it.
4. Lastly, cut the bottom part of the shirt. Again, depending on how long you want the top to be.

P.S. You can always use a pencil to mark the shirt. If in case, you wanted it to be really aligned and all. But it's actually okay if you won't use one. That's what I did. Hihi.

For the fringed top:

1. Lay down the shirt.
2. Cut the collar part of the shirt, it can be deeper if you want to.
3. Cut the sleeves off. Depending on how low you want it.
4. Place a tape 2-3 inches above the bottom part of the shirt. You can always go beyond or under the measurements I indicated.
5. Cut thin vertical strips from the bottom of the shirt until the tape.
6. Cut the hem line at the bottom part of the strips you made.
7. Press the strips from top to bottom to give it an edgier look. It will actually lengthen the strips and make it thinner.

For the hanging top: (this one's the easiest)

1. Lay down the shirt.
2. Cut the collar part of the shirt, it can be deeper if you want to.
3. You can cut a little part of the sleeves, I think that's better.
4. Cut the bottom part of the shirt. Cut it horizontally. The length of the hanging top would depend on you.

And there you go! I hope I was able to give proper steps. I'm not really good at these and I just wanna share what I did last week. To whoever's reading this, you should definitely try making one! :) I really did enjoy turning plain shorts into colorful ones and turning my big shirts into cool tank tops. :)

Here's the shorts and tops that I made :)

They would look much better when worn. -_- Sorry if I have no pictures of them when worn. But I'll probably wear some of these three weeks from now, when I go to Bora =)) I'll post pictures of these clothes after my Bora trip :) Hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. :)

Random Thoughts.

Have you ever felt so alone? Like you don't have anyone to talk to? Someone to whom you could tell all the happy things that happened in your life as well as the bad ones? It's kinda depressing if that happens to you 'coz I know how important it is to have someone to talk to. It actually makes life easier. If there are times wherein you feel so happy and you just wanna share it with someone, having that someone would be a big help and could even add to the happiness you feel and if there are times wherein you feel so sad and depressed with what's going on with your life then again, having someone to confide your problems to would also be a big help. They could be the one to help you decide in what decision to make. That's the great thing about having a best friend. He/She could be that someone to whom you could share everything with. So, if you have your own best friend, you're lucky. Having many friends is great as well but having that one friend whom you could really share everything is a lot better.

It's been a while.

Yeah, it's been a while since I last blogged. I don't know why but I just don't know what to blog about these past few days. Well, I haven't done anything that was worth blogging. Sad to say, my life for the past two weeks was kinda boring 'coz I just kept on doing the same things :( Boo :( But I'm not saying that for the past two weeks I was sad and all. It's just that, things that happened were the "usual". The weather was another reason why I wasn't active in blogging these past weeks 'coz it was cold. Oh, bed weather. Anyway, I would love to have some adventures, more travelling in and out of the country, make myself happy or something like that 'coz last year was not really a good year for me so I'm trying to make 2013 my year :) Hopefully, I can do it.

So as I was saying I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to blog for two weeks (almost). Well, I'm sorry for my readers (if I have some, hihi) and of course, I feel sorry for myself 'coz I can't think of anything worth blogging. So... sorry :) Now, I'll really try to blog more often. And, I promised myself that I would always blog at the end of the month to do a quick recap of how a certain month in my life went. Plus, I'll blog about random stuff that are...yes, worth blogging. :))) I just like to say those words hahaha! Anyway, if you would like me to blog about a certain topic or anything you wanna hear from me (if there are any) you can always email me (naks!) so that when there are times that my mind is empty I can blog about something :) You can just send it here :) canlasbianca@gmail.com :) Thank you! Till my next blog post. Hopefully by next week :)

Let's go Lady Spikers!

Last Saturday, January 12, I got the chance to watch the volleyball match between the De La Salle Lady Spikers and the Ateneo Lady Eagles. It was just two seasons ago wherein I started watching such games. I'm not that into volleyball before and I don't know why I never learned how to play the sport. The only chance that I was able to play volleyball was during PE. But never did I became good at it. Even if that's the case, I still enjoy watching volleyball. Well, I love watching different kinds of sports.

So, luckily we were able to get tickets for the game. Thanks to our friend, Oscar :) It was my first time to watch it in the arena and I was pretty excited. The feeling's really different when you're actually in that place. The arena was full of so many people and even the staircases were filled with people seated on it. Everyone was really excited for the match. Not just because they're rivals but also because they are the top 1 and 2 teams. The game was definitely a great one. Set 1 even reached until 28 points. That's how great the players are. First two sets went to the Lady Eagles and they just needed 1 set to win the game. After those sets, I was already down. We felt like the game would be over after the third set. But! It didn't end after the third set, it even reached the fifth set. And... the Lady Spikers even won! Well, there was a part of me that believed that they would win it. That was when they won in the third set, I then knew they would win. But the nervousness was still there especially on the last set. I was shouting/cheering during the whole game. Bigay todo ang sigaw =)) I really enjoy watching UAAP games especially if it's a DLSU-ADMU game. It's really different. Cheering non-stop for your school =) Palakasan ng cheer sa Ateneo :) At least, during the first volleyball game that I've watched live, the Lady Spikers won which gave the Lady Eagles their first loss for the season. The Lady Spikers just showed how champions do it. :) They never gave up and continued their focus in the game. Let's go Lady Spikers! You played really well. My personal favorite players are Ara Galang, Mika Reyes, Michelle Gumabao, Aby Marano and Kim Fajardo from the Lady Spikers :) They played great during the last three sets which made DLSU win.

Looking forward to more volleyball games. :)

Congrats Lady Spikers! Animo! :)

Oh, my dear crushes.

If you know me too well, then you know that I have way too many crushes. And it's not a good thing, not really. I know what you're thinking now. -_- Well, it's just a crush. But still, I have too many crushes. That's why this year I told myself to actually avoid having crushes or if I can't really avoid, then to just lessen or if it's possible, to delete. :))

I don't know why I'm even doing this. Oh wait, I know why. I really want to focus with what I'm about to face this year. And, I also told myself that I'll make 2013 a year for myself. Wherein, I would like to think about myself more instead of having a crush on someone who doesn't even know me. I know what you're thinking again. Yeah, I'm a psychic. Joke. Okay, that's not funny. =)) Anyway...

You can't really force what to feel and what to stop feeling. I know that's what you're thinking right now. Well, I also believe in that. Just like in my previous blog post. You can't really tell yourself what to feel. But! This time it's different, having a crush is a feeling, yeah. But it's not that deep of a feeling so I think you can still try to control it. Am I right? Or not... But whatever, I would still try to lessen my crushes. Hahaha! =))

Insights would likely be appreciated. =))))))))

Holding back.

Have you ever felt sad without even knowing the reason why? Or were there times wherein tears would just fall down from your eyes? Some of you may say that that's impossible or that's just nothing. But to tell you the truth, it happens a lot to me. Even if I'm not really thinking about something or someone, tears would just fall. And the worst part is, sometimes they'll continuously fall even if you're trying to hold the tears. Until now, I don't know the explanation to it. Maybe because I'm not even trying to find out the reason why this happens. Whatever the reason is, one day I'll know it.

For the past year, that happened most of the time. It may be because I'm always at home and alone or what. Or maybe because of the "not so nice" things that happened last year. But as I've said, I'm not even thinking about anything at all when tears would just drop. All along I told myself that I should stop with the drama and all. But what I don't know is that it's not really "drama". It's actually something someone can't control. Before, I thought that I could control it. I even said that this year I would stop with that. But I can't. I can't tell myself what to feel. It feels what it feels. That's it.

This year, I told myself that I should stop thinking about the things that happened in the past that makes me feel sad. That's what I told myself because I don't want to dwell in the past. I want to keep moving forward and just forget. But I guess it's not that easy. It's not some kind of magic that could just be poofed away. It's the emotions we're talking about here.

I always try to control what I feel. And what does it do to me? It doesn't really make what I'm feeling go away. It's actually the reason why I start thinking about things. The moment I feel sad, that's when I start thinking about what's really wrong or what makes me sad. And I don't like that feeling. :( Well, that proves I'm not a robot.

I know that the memories of the "not so nice" things that happened last year wouldn't be forgotten easily but I hope that one day I would just find myself with tears of joy. I want to be happy. I will be happy. :)

What have I learned from this experience of mine? Nothing good happens when you're holding back

One step at a time.

Can you believe that? 2012's over. It's already 2013! Wow! Time does really fly.

It has been a tradition in our family to welcome the New Year at Clark, Pampanga. It may be in Fontana or Mimosa. For the past three years, I think, we spent it at Mimosa 'coz it's bigger and we have a big family that's why it's very suitable for us. It's actually a great place to spend the holidays for we stayed in the same house which became our bonding. We stayed there for three days, from December 30-January 1. It's one of the holidays that I personally look forward to. We're always complete in welcoming the new year which is actually a great way to start the year. Spending it with loved ones is always a great feeling❤

Let me share our "three-day bonding" :)

On December 30, we just stayed at Mimosa almost the whole day. It was only around 6pm wherein we went to SM Clark with some of the girls. :)
Non-stop eating for the whole day :)) BUSOG.
After dinner, I had the chance to chat with some of my nieces. Girl talk :) It was nice to actually chat with them and talk about "things". Hahaha =)) We were awake until 2 in the morning, I guess. It was actually fun! It was great to have such conversations with them. Naks =))))))

While on December 31, we had a loooooooong day. The boys woke up at around 7 in the morning to play basketball. I woke up at 9, boo :( Anyway.. the kids then had a swim. I just went with them 'coz I was too lazy to swim. Hahaha! Then, after lunch we were supposed to go to Dinosaur's Island but then it costs 350 pesos and we were fifteen or more? hahaha! So, we just decided to go biking. It was fun! I actually missed biking and I loved the environment there. It was peaceful :) After, we went back to Mimosa. Then, had a little grocery shopping at Puregold. Oh, chocolates❤ Hihi :> Then, we just had little chats with each other inside the villa. When we ran out of topic, we went outside to star gaze. Naks haha :)) The weather was great :) It was cold outside :) The feeling of lying on the grass while looking at the stars, priceless. Then, the tiring thing that we did was run. I actually played with my nephews and nieces. Takbo kami ng takbo =)) Nakakapagod hahaha! Then, it was already 11:30 pm so we decided to go to the clubhouse for the countdown and to watch the fireworks display. It was beautiful!!! We were also able to see the fireworks display from Fontana :)) Everything was beautiful! Then, it was time for Media Noche! Kainan na naman =)) BUSOG. We were awake until 3 in the morning :)

But my mom won the overnight stay at H20 hotel :) Yeah, she's always lucky when it comes to raffle. Then after the raffle we had the "pictorial". Hahaha! For this year, we decided to wear something blue. We have so many pictures that day. Non-stop picture taking. We were vain for that moment. Hahahaha =)) I loved all our pictures that day.
